MENDHAR/JAMMU, Apr 13 (Agencies): An old rusted mortar shell was found in a forward village in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, officials said.
The mortar shell was noticed by villagers in an open field near Sandote in Balakote area of Mendhar, they said.
The officials said the Army’s Bomb Disposal Squad was summoned and later the mortar shell was safely destroyed in a controlled explosion.
