Demand verification of candidates’ qualifications before document verification; urge exclusion of ineligible graduates

JAMMU, Oct 30: A group of aspirants appearing for the JKSSB Driver recruitment examination has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) to strictly implement the prescribed educational eligibility criteria and ensure that only eligible candidates are considered for selection.

The aspirants stated that the recruitment criteria prescribe a minimum educational qualification of Matriculation (Class 10) and a maximum qualification, under which candidates who have passed Class 12 are eligible, while graduates are not. They have requested the Board to verify the educational qualifications of all applicants and finalise eligibility before the document verification stage.

Referring to the previous Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) examination, the aspirants claimed that one candidate was initially placed in the provisional category but was later excluded from the final selection. They stated that the candidate was a graduate and urged the Board to identify other candidates holding graduate qualifications and take similar action wherever the prescribed criteria are not fulfilled.

The aspirants maintained that the Board has access to candidates’ submitted records and relevant documents and should use them to ensure uniform implementation of the eligibility conditions.

They appealed to the JKSSB and the Jammu and Kashmir Government to consider their concern and ensure transparency, fairness and equal treatment throughout the recruitment process. They said that strict adherence to the notified criteria would protect the interests of eligible candidates and prevent any alleged discrimination.
