JAMMU / SHIMLA, Oct 31: Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, on Saturday paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 151st birth anniversary, recalling his historic contribution to India’s unity, integrity and nation-building.
The Governor said that Sardar Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, played a pivotal role in integrating the princely states and laying the foundation of a united India. He noted that Patel’s determination, administrative vision and unwavering commitment to national integration continue to inspire generations.
Highlighting Patel’s vision, Gupta said that he firmly believed in the strength of unity and collective resolve. He observed that the nation’s progress and security depend on preserving its unity, integrity and spirit of national service.
The Governor called upon the youth to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s life and ideals and contribute to nation-building with dedication, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.
He also urged people to strengthen harmony, mutual respect and the spirit of unity in diversity, while working collectively towards building a prosperous, developed and strong India.
The Governor said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ideals would continue to guide the country in its journey towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
