Senior Engineers accord welcome to First Secretary (Technical) in JSD

SRINAGAR, Jul 11: Senior engineers and officials of the Jal Shakti Department accorded a welcome to Er Manoj Gupta on his assumption of charge as the First Secretary (Technical) in the department at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.

The appointment follows the creation of the post of Secretary (Technical) by the Government as part of the recently ordered reorganisation of the Jal Shakti Department. Officers described the move as a historic step towards strengthening technical governance, enhancing administrative efficiency, and improving the overall functioning of the department.

Welcoming the new incumbent, officers expressed confidence in the technical expertise and administrative capabilities of Er. Manoj Gupta. They said his appointment would play a significant role in promoting effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of key water supply and infrastructure projects across the Union Territory.

Among those who personally congratulated Er. Manoj Gupta in his office chambers were Er. Reyaz Bhat, Technical Advisor, Jal Jeevan Mission; Er. Samiullah Beigh, Superintending Engineer, UEED; and Er. Ambreen Anjum, Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Srinagar.

The officers conveyed their best wishes and assured the Secretary (Technical) of their full cooperation in his efforts to strengthen the department’s technical framework and improve water governance in Jammu & Kashmir. They expressed optimism that the creation of the new post would facilitate faster technical decision-making, better project execution, and enhanced coordination among various engineering wings of the department.

The officials also observed that the restructuring of the department reflects the Government’s commitment to modernising the Jal Shakti Department and ensuring efficient delivery of drinking water and other water resource management services. They hoped that under the guidance of the newly appointed Secretary (Technical), the department would continue to adopt innovative engineering practices and achieve greater efficiency in implementing public welfare initiatives.
