ANANTNAG, Sep 7: The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) organized a successful and well-attended workers’ meeting at Town Hall, Anantnag, bringing together key organizational leaders, local workers, youth representatives, and political and social activists from different parts of the district.
The meeting was chaired by Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, State Secretary of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, while the programme was organized under the leadership of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, District Youth President, Anantnag.
The meeting focused on strengthening the organizational structure of BTSM at the grassroots level, expanding its activities among the youth, and creating greater awareness about the national and cultural issues concerning Tibet and India’s Himalayan border regions.
Addressing the gathering, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday emphasized the importance of organizational unity, discipline, dedication, and active participation of workers in strengthening the Manch. He called upon the workers to take the message and mission of BTSM to every section of society and work collectively for the protection of India’s national interests and cultural heritage.
A significant number of political and social workers from various backgrounds also joined the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch during the meeting, demonstrating the growing support and confidence in the organization and its activities in the Anantnag district. The leadership warmly welcomed the new members and expressed confidence that their participation would further strengthen the organization at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Ahmad Bhat highlighted the important role of youth in carrying forward the mission and objectives of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch. He expressed gratitude to all the participants and called upon the younger generation to actively contribute towards national unity, cultural awareness, and the protection of India’s strategic interests.
The speakers also highlighted the mission of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, which is committed to strengthening awareness and solidarity regarding the Tibet issue, preserving the ancient civilizational, cultural, and spiritual relationship between India and Tibet, and supporting efforts to protect India’s national and strategic interests along its Himalayan borders. BTSM works to create public awareness regarding the historical relationship between India and Tibet and seeks to promote national consciousness about the importance of the Himalayan region for India’s security, culture, environment, and civilization.
In his message to the gathering, Dr Vivek Sharma, National Co-Convener of the Intellectual Forum of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch and President of BTSM for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh UT, emphasized the significance of the forthcoming Tawang Yatra of the organization. He said that Tawang holds immense historical, cultural, religious, and strategic importance for India and represents the centuries-old spiritual and civilizational connection between India and the Himalayan Buddhist world.
Dr Vivek Sharma stated that the Tawang Yatra would provide an important opportunity for members and workers of BTSM to understand the cultural heritage, religious traditions, and strategic significance of the Himalayan border regions. He said that such initiatives help create greater awareness among the people, particularly the youth, about the importance of safeguarding India’s territorial integrity, cultural heritage, and national interests.
He further called upon the workers and youth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to actively participate in the activities and programmes of the Manch and strengthen the message of national unity and cultural harmony. He expressed confidence that the Tawang Yatra would inspire greater national consciousness and reinforce the commitment of BTSM workers towards the protection and development of India’s Himalayan frontier regions.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by the workers and leadership to strengthen the organization across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The participants pledged to work collectively to expand BTSM’s presence, engage more youth, and carry forward the organization’s mission of national unity, cultural preservation, awareness about Tibet, and the protection of India’s national interests.
