‘Raise Age Limit to 40 Years’: MLA Pulwama Para on Jammu Kashmir Bank Recruitment

SRINAGAR, Nov 7 (Agencies): PDP MLA from Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para on Saturday called for raising the upper age limit to 40 years for recruitment to the posts of Probationary Officers (POs) and Banking Associates in Jammu and Kashmir Bank, citing concerns over the existing eligibility criteria.

In a post on X, Para said the prescribed age limit of 20 to 30 years was unfair to thousands of aspirants who had been waiting for recruitment opportunities for years.

Drawing a comparison with the recruitment criteria followed by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), he questioned why candidates applying for Jammu and Kashmir Bank posts were not being granted a similar upper age limit of up to 40 years.

Para also called for the withdrawal of reservation provisions in the recruitment process, arguing that they affected merit-based opportunities for local youth.

He urged the Chief Minister and Jammu and Kashmir Bank to consider the concerns raised by aspirants, particularly their demand for increasing the upper age limit to 40 years and ensuring equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
