JAMMU, Aug 6: The Sadhu Dharam Sthan Surakshini Samiti convened a meeting at Mahakali Temple, Shastri Nagar, under the chairmanship of its President, Mahant Datt Giri. The meeting focused on strengthening the organisation and addressing issues concerning the protection of temple properties.
By unanimous resolution, Mahant Abhay Giri Maharaj was appointed as the General Secretary of the Samiti, while Mahant Swami Hari Sanand Giri Ji Maharaj was appointed as the Senior Advisor.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahant Datt Giri expressed grave concern over the alleged encroachment of land belonging to several temples and monasteries by land mafias. He urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene and ensure that the encroached religious properties are reclaimed and restored to the respective temples and religious institutions.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue working for the protection and preservation of religious places across the region.
Prominent members present included Mahant Rameshwar Giri Maharaj, Senior Vice President Mahant Mohan Giri Maharaj, Mahant Chetan Giri, Mahant Rakesh Giri, Mahant Ram Narayan Das Shastri (Rehal), Mahant Paras Giri, Mahant Nirmal Giri, Mahant Praggi Giri, Mahant Krishna Giri, Mahant Mukesh Giri, Kotwal Satyanand Giri, along with several other members of the Samiti.
