JAMMU, May 21: A high-level delegation of the Jammu Ram Leela Club, led by President Shashi Mehra and Founding Organisation General Secretary Deepak Gupta, called on District Magistrate Jammu, Rakesh Minhas, to express their deep appreciation for his relentless efforts to combat the drug menace in the district since taking charge as DC Jammu. The members lauded the administrator’s proactive approach and grassroots campaigns aimed at safeguarding the future of the local youth.

During the meeting, senior member Brij Mohan Khajuria briefed the District Magistrate on the various social, cultural, and welfare initiatives undertaken by the Jammu Ram Leela Club to keep the youth positively engaged. He highlighted that the club has formed five dedicated Hanuman Chalisa groups involving more than 150 registered youth who gather every Tuesday. This spiritual initiative has proven highly effective in steering young minds away from drug abuse. Furthermore, he noted that the club regularly organizes drug awareness programs and blood donation camps alongside its grand flagship events, the annual Ram Leela and the traditional Annual Dangal.

Sustaining the momentum of the discussion, Rakesh Gupta and Krishan Manhas highly commended DC Rakesh Minhas for his widespread drug awareness campaigns. They assured the District Magistrate of the club’s unwavering support, stating that their entire team stands ready to assist the district administration in any capacity to eradicate substance abuse from society. As a token of respect, the delegation also extended a formal invitation to the DC to attend their upcoming Annual Dangal, scheduled to take place on May 31, 2026, at Rani Talab, Digiana.

The delegation that accompanied the leadership included prominent members Sahil Doya, Amit Mehra, Vinayak Magotra, Kannu, Soyam Gupta, Chanderkant Gupta, and Subash Choudhary, all of whom reiterated their commitment to building a drug-free Jammu.
