Health Deptt conducts Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at Hussain Paramedical Institute Ghat

DODA, May 14: In view of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, an awareness programme on drug abuse was organized by the Block Medical Officer Ghat at Hussain Paramedical Institute, Ghat.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Rather and under the supervision of BMO Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor.

Among those present on the occasion were Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Mashhood Latif (BM&EO Ghat), Dr. Tarif Younas (MLHP), and Faizan A. Tramboo (Incharge Health Media Desk). Director of the Institute, Mudassir Wani, along with faculty members and students of the institute, also participated in the programme.

During the event, representatives from the Health Department delivered awareness lectures highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of collective efforts in building a drug free society under the ongoing campaign.

A symposium on drug abuse was also organized during the programme in which students of the institute, including Zahid Shafiq, Ruqaya Banoo, Muzamil Ahmed and Jyoti Devi, expressed their views and spoke about the growing need for awareness and prevention of substance abuse among youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Institute, Mudassir Wani, appreciated the efforts of the Health Department for organizing the awareness programme and educating students on such an important social issue.

Later, prizes were distributed among the participating students, followed by a collective pledge taken by all attendees to support the mission of a drug free Jammu & Kashmir and District Doda as well.
