Government Nursing College Doda celebrates International Nurses Day

DODA, May 14: Government Nursing College Doda organized the International Nurses Day celebration under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives” with great enthusiasm and participation. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Dev Raj Dogra, Principal GMC Doda and  under the supervision of Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, Coordinator Govt.Nursing College Doda.

The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Ahrar Ahmed Dev, who welcomed the guests, faculty members, and students and highlighted the significance of International Nurses Day.

A valuable and inspiring speech was delivered by Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, who emphasized the important role of nurses in strengthening healthcare services and acknowledged the dedication and contribution of the nursing profession toward society.

On the occasion, Dr. Irfan Tasaduq Deputy Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC Doda shared valuable information regarding the nursing profession and highlighted the life and contributions of Florence Nightingale to modern healthcare and nursing services.

During the celebration, nursing students presented various cultural and educational programmes including singing performances, quiz competitions, debate competitions, and other cultural activities. The institution also celebrated the entire week with different indoor and outdoor sports competitions, encouraging active participation among students.

Various dignitaries, faculty members, and guests from Government Medical College Doda and Government Nursing College Doda were present during the event.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session in which awards were distributed among students for various competitions. Meritorious students who excelled in the previous year’s University of Jammu examinations were also felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Reeta Devi, Tutor Govt. Nursing College Doda who expressed gratitude to all the guests, faculty members, students, and organizers for making the celebration successful.
