THANNAMANDI, Aug 3: The Cultural and Literary Activity Committee of Government Degree College Thannamandi organised a vibrant Intra-College Competition on National Anthem Singing here today.
The event organized under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, with the objective of fostering deep patriotic values, national integration, and a sense of civic pride among the student community.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and faculty members who gathered to celebrate the spirit of patriotism. In the competition, Aslaan Rasool (Semester 3rd) secured the first position, followed by Faizan Raja (Semester 1st) in second place, and Saiqa Asad (Semester 1st) in third place.
The proceedings of the program were smoothly conducted by Prof. Rizwana Kousar. A key highlight of the event was an insightful address by Dr. Gulshan Rashid, Convener of the Cultural and Literary Activity Committee.
Dr. Rashid presented a detailed, technical breakdown of the National Anthem, educating the audience on its correct rhythm, timing, pronunciation, and the protocols to be observed during its singing. The initiative received strong support from the college staff.
Prominent faculty and committee members who attended and managed the program included Dr. Rumy Dar, Dr. Nagina Kousser, Dr. Mohd Ashrif, Dr. Yasmine Kouser, Dr. Shazia Paswal, and Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.
The event concluded successfully with an official vote of thanks presented by Prof. Fatima Parveen, who expressed gratitude to the college leadership, the organizing team, and the students for making the competition a grand success.
