DC Thannamandi organises awareness session and Hackathon Campaign under Udyam Jagriti 5.0

THANNAMANDI, Aug 18: Government Degree College Thannamandi organises an Awareness Session and Hackathon Campaign under Mission YUVA – Udyam Jagriti 5.0 on August 18, 2026, with the active participation of around 120 students. The programme was conducted under the guidance and support of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, with the objective of sensitising students about entrepreneurship, innovation, the Mission YUVA schemes and the UT-wide Hackathon.

Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, IIC Coordinator, GDC Thannamandi, and Dr. Nagina Kouser, Placement Coordinator, GDC Thannamandi coordinated the programme in collaboration with BHD Thannamandi.

The programme commenced with the welcome address and proceedings by Dr. Nagina Kouser, who formally welcomed the guests and participants. She gave a brief glimpse of the objectives and significance of this awareness programme. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, IIC Coordinator, delivered the awareness talk and familiarized students about Mission YUVA, Udyam Jagriti 5.0, entrepreneurial opportunities and the Hackathon campaign. She encouraged students to identify real-life problems, develop innovative solutions and explore entrepreneurship as a pathway towards becoming job creators.  Mohd. Aslam Khan, Lead Local Entrepreneur, shared his entrepreneurial success story, highlighting the importance of determination, innovation and perseverance in transforming an idea into a successful venture.

Further insights into Mission YUVA and its opportunities were provided by Assia Asirut Lone, BHD Lead, who familiarised the students with the initiatives and support available under the programme. The session concluded with the presidential remarks by Dr. Naseem Ahmed, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate in entrepreneurship and innovation-related programmes. Dr. Mohd. Ashrif, Head, Department of Urdu, proposed the formal vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the Principal, resource persons, Mission YUVA team, faculty members and students for making the programme successful.

Prominent among others who participated the programme include Librarian Anuj Bali, the members of the Mission YUVA team; Dr Rizwana Kouser, Dr. Shazia Paswal and the students of the college.
