JAMMU, Sep 24: NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has introduced MyUPI, a conversational AI-powered assistant on the BHIM Payments App, aimed at providing users with simple, round-the-clock multilingual assistance for their UPI-related needs.

MyUPI brings several UPI support services together within the BHIM app, enabling users to access transaction history, raise and track complaints, view and manage mandates set up through any UPI application, de-link their mobile number and access fraud-awareness assistance. The initiative is designed to make digital payments easier to manage while helping users obtain support without having to navigate multiple channels.

MyUPI was launched by NPCI at the Global Fintech Fest 2026. The conversational interface allows users to communicate their requirements in everyday language, reducing the need to complete detailed forms or go through multiple rounds of interactions to explain an issue. According to NBSL, the service is intended to make assistance more accessible and convenient for users dealing with common UPI-related queries and concerns.

The AI assistant currently supports English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali, with additional regional languages planned in the future. MyUPI is available 24 hours a day within the BHIM Payments App, allowing users to seek assistance whenever required.

Despite the conversational nature of the service, payment-related actions continue to require user authentication through the UPI PIN. This ensures that users remain responsible for authorising transactions and that conversational assistance does not replace the existing authentication mechanism for payments.

Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO, NPCI BHIM Services Limited, said that as digital payments become increasingly integrated into everyday life, trust must remain central to every user interaction. She said MyUPI adds a proactive support layer to the BHIM Payments App, enabling users to seek information, address concerns and take timely action with greater clarity.

She further said that making the experience conversational, multilingual and accessible would support BHIM’s objective of making digital payments easier to use and more inclusive.

The introduction of MyUPI marks another step towards integrating conversational artificial intelligence into digital payment services. By bringing assistance, complaint management, transaction information, mandate management and fraud-awareness support together within a single interface, the service seeks to simplify the way users interact with UPI-related services while retaining existing security and authentication requirements.
