POONCH, May 30: Demonstrating its enduring commitment towards the welfare of local communities under the Winning Hearts and Minds initiative, the Indian Army extended timely medical assistance to a civilian injured in a bear attack in a remote area of Poonch District.
Upon receiving information about the incident, troops of Indian Army responded promptly and evacuated the injured individual to the MI Room, where immediate first aid was administered. Suturing of wounds was carried out under strict aseptic precautions, and necessary medical treatment was provided. Thereafter, the casualty was evacuated to the nearest Primary Health Centre at Saujiyan for further medical management and observation.
The condition of the injured civilian is presently stable, and the concerned authorities continue to monitor the situation. Local residents have also been advised to exercise caution while moving in the affected area.
The local populace expressed deep gratitude towards the Indian Army for the prompt and life-saving assistance rendered at a remote location.
