AKHNOOR, May 30: As part of its continued outreach efforts, the Indian Army conducted the third session of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan at Village Bomal, Akhnoor. A women-led awareness drive against substance abuse was organised under the nationwide initiative spearheaded by the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The awareness drive focused on sensitising women about the harmful effects of drug abuse and their vital role in guiding youth towards a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Emphasis was laid on maintaining vigilance, fostering open communication within families and encouraging collective efforts to eradicate substance abuse from society.
Following the awareness drive, an interaction meeting was conducted at the premises of Government Middle School, Badyala Chak. The event was attended by 14 Ex-Servicemen, 26 women, including three widows, 21 men and 11 children. Local residents participated actively, interacted with the organisers and expressed their commitment to making society drug-free. Refreshments were served to the attendees after the successful conduct of the event.
