REASI, Aug 20: Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on Drug Abuse and De-radicalisation at Chakalsalta, Reasi, as part of its ongoing Sampark initiatives aimed at community welfare and youth empowerment. The programme was attended by 04 teachers, 11 students and 10 local residents.
The session focused on sensitising participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the risks associated with radical and extremist ideologies. The attendees were educated about the physical, psychological and social consequences of substance abuse, while emphasising the importance of discipline, informed decision-making and a healthy lifestyle.
During the de-radicalisation session, participants were encouraged to reject misinformation, extremist propaganda and divisive narratives. The importance of peace, harmony, national integration and responsible citizenship was highlighted, along with the role of parents, teachers and society in guiding vulnerable individuals.
The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed their commitment towards creating awareness against drug abuse and promoting a peaceful and progressive society. The event reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued efforts towards the welfare, awareness and positive development of the local population, especially youth.
