Army conducts motivational lecture on career opportunities in defence forces at Gurmul

DODA, Aug 20: With an aim to encourage local youth to pursue careers in the Indian Defence Forces, the Indian Army conducted a motivational lecture-cum-workshop at Higher Secondary School, Gurmul.

The session was conducted by the Indian Army officer who motivated young boys and girls to consider joining the Defence Forces and explained various entry schemes, including opportunities for commissioning as officers. A total of 80 boys, 70 girls, 10 teachers and 20 local residents attended the programme.

The participants were also briefed on enrolment opportunities under the Agnipath Scheme, recruitment procedures, eligibility criteria and career prospects. An interactive session enabled aspiring candidates to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the selection process.

The programme formed part of the Indian Army’s ongoing motivational outreach initiatives aimed at guiding and empowering youth. Informative handouts, leaflets and publicity material were also distributed among the students.

The initiative received an encouraging response from participants, who appreciated the guidance and expressed interest in similar programmes in the future. The event further strengthened the bond between the Indian Army and the local community while inspiring youth towards discipline, service and nation-building.
