JAMMU, Aug 1: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Provincial Joint Secretary Ankush Abrol and Coordinate and Zonal Secretary Central Zone Dr. Vikas Sharma have strongly condemned the barbaric killing of two non-local labourers in the Devsar area of Kulgam, terming the incident a cowardly and inhuman act aimed at disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing profound grief over the tragic incident, the leaders extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. They also prayed that the bereaved families are granted the strength and courage to bear this immense and irreparable loss.
Ankush Abrol and Dr. Vikas Sharma said that targeting innocent, unarmed and vulnerable labourers, who had come to Jammu and Kashmir to earn an honest livelihood, is an unforgivable crime and deserves the strongest possible condemnation. They said such heinous acts are a direct assault on the values of humanity, communal harmony and brotherhood that have always defined the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The leaders urged the administration and security agencies to identify the perpetrators without delay and ensure that they are brought to justice in accordance with the law. They also stressed the need to strengthen security measures to safeguard the lives of workers, civilians and all residents across the Union Territory.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to peace, harmony and inclusive development, they said that such cowardly acts of violence cannot weaken the collective resolve of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They expressed confidence that the people would continue to stand united against terrorism and every attempt to spread fear and instability.
