JAMMU, Aug 28: The Rotary Club of Jammu Midtown organised a grand Felicitation Programme to honour renowned Social Activist Keshav Chopra, Chairman of Samvedna Society and recipient of the Mahatma Gandhi National Service Award 2026, in recognition of his outstanding achievements and remarkable contribution towards social welfare and community service.
Keshav Chopra has been continuously working for the welfare of society through Samvedna Society and has organised 109 Free Health Check-Up Camps, providing free medical consultations, health screenings and medicines to thousands of needy people.
His social service initiatives also include organising Drug Awareness Programmes, promoting sports through Anti-Drug Cricket Tournaments, facilitating the distribution of Domicile Certificates and Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards, organising Aadhaar Enrollment Camps, and conducting Voter Enrollment and Awareness Camps to help citizens access government services and exercise their democratic rights.
Speaking on the occasion Shivani Choudhary, Assistant Governor, appreciated the dedicated efforts of Keshav Chopra towards social welfare and said that his continuous commitment to serving the underprivileged and needy sections of society was truly inspiring. She lauded the various initiatives undertaken by Samvedna Society and congratulated him on receiving the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi National Service Award 2026.
Chakshu Kapoor, Assistant Governor, also praised Keshav Chopra for his selfless service and contribution to the community. He said that organising such a large number of free health camps and other welfare initiatives reflects his dedication and commitment towards humanity and society.
Richa Jain, President, Rotary Club of Jammu Midtown, congratulated Keshav Chopra and said that the Club was proud to honour a social worker who has consistently devoted his efforts towards the betterment of society. She appreciated his initiatives in the fields of healthcare, drug awareness, youth engagement and facilitating access to various government welfare schemes.
Expressing his gratitude, Keshav Chopra thanked the Rotary Club of Jammu Midtown for recognising his efforts and said that the honour would further motivate him to continue working with greater dedication for the welfare of society. He also appreciated the support of all those associated with Samvedna Society and its various social welfare initiatives.
