SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Jammu and Kashmir President Vivek Bali has strongly condemned the reported attack on Kashmiri passengers travelling in a bus in Haryana, expressing concern that such incidents tarnish the image of the country, which is known for its diversity, unity and hospitality.
In a statement issued here, Bali expressed deep anguish over the incident and said that violence against innocent travellers was unacceptable and contrary to the fundamental values of peace, brotherhood and mutual respect.
According to Bali, the bus was travelling from Delhi to Srinagar when the incident took place in Haryana. He said that around 40 passengers were on board at the time, as per information provided by the bus company.
“This incident is deeply condemnable. Such acts create a negative impression of our beautiful nation, which is known across the world for its diversity, unity and hospitality. No civilised society can tolerate attacks on innocent people, particularly those who are travelling to their homes,” Bali said.
He stressed that every citizen has the right to travel safely and without fear, irrespective of their regional identity, and urged the authorities to take the matter seriously.
Bali appealed to the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident and ensure that those found responsible are brought to justice and given strict punishment under the law.
“I appeal to the authorities to ensure a fair and comprehensive investigation and take strict action against those responsible. Such incidents must not be allowed to go unpunished, and a strong message must be sent that violence and harassment of innocent travellers will not be tolerated,” he added.
Bali further emphasised the importance of maintaining communal harmony, brotherhood and mutual respect to ensure that every citizen feels safe and respected across the country.
