SAMBA, Jun 9: The Youth National Conference (YNC) ON Tuesday organized an interaction programme at Rahain Border Belt, where a large number of local youth participated and shared their concerns and aspirations. The programme was organized by Central Zone Vice President  Rohit Dogra.

The meeting was chaired by Sardar Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, Provincial President, Youth National Conference Jammu. Prominent leaders present on the occasion included Hameed Choudhary (President, Central Zone), Rajeshwar Singh (Youth Leader), Attal Singh (Vice President, Jammu Urban), Fareed Choudhary (Vice President, YNC Samba), Bilal Malik ,Ayush Goswami, Jatin Sambyal (District Coordinator, Samba), Abhi Jamwal, Sushil Randhawa, Raj Kumar, Aniket Verma, and several other Youth National Conference members and local residents.

During the interaction, the youth highlighted several issues affecting the area. Their primary concern was the education sector. They informed the leadership that there is only one High School in the area and demanded its upgradation. They also pointed out the severe shortage of teaching staff, due to which the school remains largely non-functional. The youth urged the authorities to provide adequate staff to ensure quality education for local students.

The participants also raised concerns regarding the local playground, requesting its proper maintenance and development. They emphasized that there is no other suitable playground in the area and that promoting sports activities is essential to keep young people engaged and away from the growing menace of drug abuse.

Another important issue raised by the youth was the lack of employment opportunities for local residents in private factories operating in the area. They alleged that preference is often given to workers from outside the region and demanded that local youth be given priority in recruitment. The participants also highlighted the incomplete Community Hall attached to a local temple and requested that the pending construction work be completed at the earliest so that the facility can be utilized for community welfare activities.

Addressing the gathering, Tejinder Pal Singh Aman assured the youth that all the issues raised during the meeting would be taken up with the concerned authorities and government departments. He said every effort would be made to ensure the early resolution of these genuine public demands.

Aman emphasized that the youth of the border areas are the backbone of the region and deserve equal opportunities to thrive. He said that the aspirations, concerns, and development needs of border youth must be addressed on priority to ensure their active participation in nation-building and social progress.

He also encouraged the youth to actively participate in the upcoming Local Body and Panchayati Raj elections and assured them that their aspirations and political participation would be strongly supported.

Speaking on the occasion, Hameed Choudhary and Rajeshwar Singh also assured the gathering that they would collectively work towards resolving the issues related to the school, community hall, playground, and employment opportunities for local youth, and would pursue these matters with the concerned authorities.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a reaffirmation of the Youth National Conference’s commitment to addressing the concerns of border-area youth and strengthening grassroots engagement.
