True death is liberation from cycle of birth and death, says Sadguru Madhuparamhans

JAMMU, Jun 7: A large congregation of devotees gathered at Rakhbandhu, Jammu, where Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj of Sahib Bandgi delivered an enlightening spiritual discourse, emphasizing the eternal nature of the soul and the true meaning of death.

Addressing the gathering, Sadguru Ji said that while the entire world witnesses death every day, very few understand the concept of the “true death” that saints and spiritual masters have spoken about. He explained that physical death is merely the end of the body, whereas true death is liberation from the endless cycle of birth and death.

Elaborating on the distinction between the body and the soul, Sadguru Ji stated that all religions acknowledge the immortality of the soul and the perishability of the body. He said that the body, being composed of material elements, is subject to decay and destruction, whereas the soul is beyond the elements and therefore indestructible.

Quoting teachings found in the Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita, he said that the soul can neither be cut by weapons nor burned by fire, nor dried by wind. It remains eternal, immutable and blissful. “You are not merely the body; your true identity is the immortal soul, which is beyond hunger, thirst and all worldly limitations,” he remarked.

Sadguru Ji urged devotees to reflect deeply on their true nature and recognize that the soul is the real essence of existence. He emphasized that the world is not the permanent abode of the soul and that material achievements alone cannot provide lasting happiness.

Speaking on the condition of humanity, he observed that people from all walks of life, whether householders or ascetics, continue to experience suffering due to attachment to worldly pleasures and ignorance of their true spiritual identity. Referring to the teachings of Sahib Bandgi, he said that genuine peace and happiness can only be attained through the realization and practice of “Satya Naam” (the True Name).

The discourse concluded with devotees expressing gratitude for the spiritual guidance and wisdom shared by Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj. The gathering ended with prayers for universal peace, harmony and spiritual awakening.
