JAMMU, Sep 12: Organisers of the Shri Ganesh Mahotsav Yagh 2026 today announced the organisation of a grand religious and cultural festival at Gol Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, from September 14 to 25, 2026. The festival will be held under the chairmanship of Bahu Assembly Constituency MLA Vikram Randhawa.
Addressing a press briefing, the organisers said the Mahotsav would seek to promote religious traditions, cultural values and greater participation of the younger generation. A special emphasis has been placed on the involvement of Gen-Z youth in the planning, organisation and leadership of the event, with the objective of keeping young people connected with their cultural roots and Sanatan traditions.
The organisers said the younger generation is embracing modernity and new ideas, but it is equally important that they remain connected with their culture, values and traditions. The Mahotsav has therefore provided Gen-Z with an active role and responsibility in conducting the celebrations.
The festival will commence in the divine presence and blessings of Shri Shri 1008 Shri Mahant Swami Sanjay Das Ganpatya Maharaj Ji. Various religious and spiritual programmes will be organised throughout the 12-day Mahotsav under his spiritual guidance.
The celebrations will include Shri Ganesh Murti Sthapana, Ganesh Purana Katha, Ganesh Yaj, Ganesh Sahasranama, Bhajan Sandhya and Aarti, besides several other religious and spiritual programmes.
The organisers informed that a grand Shri Ganesh Ji Visarjan and Shobha Yatra would be taken out on September 25, marking the culmination of the Mahotsav. They invited people from across Jammu to participate in the celebrations along with their families and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Highlighting the role of young people, the organisers said the central message of the Mahotsav is: “The tradition remains the same, but the leadership belongs to the new generation.” They said the objective is to ensure that Gen-Z does not merely encounter Indian culture through social media but understands, experiences and embraces it in everyday life.
The organisers appealed to the people of Jammu to participate enthusiastically in the Shri Ganesh Mahotsav Yagh 2026 and make the religious and cultural celebration a grand success.
