JAMMU, Sept 12: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh Prant, today launched the official poster of ‘YASHASWINI–Prant Yuvati Sammelan 2026’ during a press conference at the ABVP office in Jammu. The initiative aims to bring together young women from across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on a common platform for dialogue, leadership development and social participation.

The YASHASWINI Yuvati Sammelans will be organised from September 30 to October 10, 2026, at respective district headquarters across the Prant. The district-wise initiative will bring together girl students from schools, colleges and universities, providing them an opportunity to express their aspirations and participate in discussions on education, career opportunities, safety, leadership and their wider role in society.

According to ABVP, YASHASWINI, symbolising a successful, glorious and empowered woman, reflects the vision of encouraging young women to become confident, capable and socially responsible citizens. The Sammelans will focus on education, women’s safety, self-defence, career guidance, entrepreneurship, leadership, citizen duties, social equality and environmental responsibility, in keeping with the broader vision of Panch Parivartan.

The district-wise format is intended to ensure participation of young women from different parts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The programmes will provide opportunities for interaction, learning and leadership development while encouraging participants to identify opportunities, understand their responsibilities and take an active role in society.

Speaking at the press conference, Sannak Shrivats, State Secretary, ABVP Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh, said YASHASWINI was not merely a conference but an initiative to connect with the aspirations and potential of young women across the Prant. He said providing young women with opportunities to express themselves, acquire knowledge and develop leadership qualities was essential for building a strong and progressive society.

Shrivats said the Sammelans would draw inspiration from women icons such as Rani Lakshmibai and Kalpana Chawla, highlighting the contribution of women to nation-building and encouraging young women to pursue excellence and leadership in every field.

Radhika Aryan, State Joint Secretary, ABVP Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh, said the district-wise organisation of YASHASWINI would provide young women from different parts of the Prant with an opportunity to participate and make their voices heard. She said the Sammelans would encourage meaningful discussions on education, personal development, career opportunities and challenges faced by young women.

She added that interactions with women achievers from the Armed Forces, administration, education, sports and social sectors would be an important feature of the programme, giving participants an opportunity to learn from their experiences and gain practical guidance on career and leadership opportunities.

During the press conference, ABVP appealed to girl students, women teachers, social workers and other members of society to actively participate in the district-wise YASHASWINI Sammelans and contribute to making the initiative a meaningful platform for dialogue, learning and leadership.

The YASHASWINI–Prant Yuvati Sammelan 2026 will be held district-wise from September 30 to October 10 at respective district headquarters across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The programme is open to girl students, women teachers, social workers and other members of society.
