JAMMU, Aug 31: Taking forward his commitment towards strengthening civic infrastructure and resolving long-pending issues of residents, MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa today initiated two important development works in Ward No. 52, Trikuta Nagar.
The MLA formally commenced the upgradation of the lane and drain at Adarsh Enclave, a long-awaited requirement of the area aimed at improving basic civic amenities and providing better and safer infrastructure to the residents.
On the occasion, Ch. Vikram Randhawa also initiated the construction of a Bathing Ghat at Jamwal Chowk, another long-pending demand of the local community. Recognising the importance of the facility for residents, the MLA has sanctioned the required funds under his Constituency Development Fund (CDF), paving the way for the long-awaited work to finally begin.
The development initiatives were undertaken in the presence of Trikuta Nagar Mandal President Nitish Mahajan, along with his team, including former Corporator Ajay Gupta and General Secretary Kulveer Charak, besides local residents. Officials from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) responsible for the execution of the works and the concerned contractor were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa said that his priority remains to ensure that genuine public issues are addressed on the ground rather than remaining confined to files and assurances. He said that continuous interaction with residents helps identify their pressing requirements and enables timely intervention for their resolution.
He further assured the people that the ongoing development works would be closely monitored to ensure proper quality, transparency and timely completion.
The local residents welcomed the commencement of both projects and expressed their appreciation to MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa for taking up their long-pending demands and, particularly, for extending CDF support for the construction of the Bathing Ghat at Jamwal Chowk.
