DODA, Aug 22: Under the guidance of the Mission Director, NHM J&K and Director Health Services Jammu, a monitoring and surveillance team comprising Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Dentistry, DHS Jammu and External Assessor, and Virender Vikram Singh, AM&EO, NHM J&K and Internal Assessor, conducted a two-day visit to District Doda to assess and review the preparedness of NQAS-nominated health facilities across the district.

During the first day, the team physically visited various NQAS-nominated health facilities and assessed their preparedness against quality standards, service delivery, documentation, infrastructure, infection control and other NQAS parameters. The team also interacted with healthcare staff and provided necessary guidance for strengthening quality improvement measures and addressing identified gaps.

On the second day, a review meeting was held at the CMO Office, Doda, with all the Incharges of NQAS-nominated health facilities and respective Block Nodal Officers for the Quality Programme. The meeting focused on reviewing the preparedness of the facilities, identifying gaps and ensuring timely corrective measures ahead of the forthcoming NQAS assessments.

The meeting was attended by CMO Doda Dr. Vinod Sharma, DHO Doda Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, BMO Ghat Dr. Abdul Gafoor, BMO Bhaderwah Dr. Versha Sharma, besides officials and members of the District Quality Assurance Unit (DQAU), Doda.

Interacting with the healthcare staff, Dr. Sanjay Sharma emphasised the importance of adhering to NQAS standards, maintaining proper documentation, ensuring patient-centric care and continuously improving the quality of healthcare services. He stressed that sustained compliance with quality standards was essential for strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

Addressing the gathering, CMO Doda Dr. Vinod Sharma appreciated the efforts of the monitoring and surveillance team as well as the healthcare staff of the district. He stressed upon all facility Incharges and Block Nodal Officers to work in close coordination, address the identified gaps on priority and ensure that all NQAS-nominated facilities remain fully prepared for the upcoming assessments.

Virender Vikram Singh also addressed the participants and provided detailed guidance regarding quality assurance processes, assessment requirements, documentation and other key NQAS parameters. He urged the facility teams to conduct regular internal reviews and ensure sustained compliance with the prescribed quality standards.

The DQAU Doda team briefed the participants about the ongoing quality improvement initiatives and extended technical support to the nominated facilities for strengthening their preparedness.

The two-day visit concluded with directions to all concerned officials and facility teams to remain proactive, ensure timely rectification of identified gaps and work collectively towards achieving and sustaining NQAS certification for the nominated health facilities of District Doda.
