KISHTWAR, Oct 21: District Police Kishtwar observed National Police Commemoration Day at District Police Lines Kishtwar, paying solemn tributes to the police martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. A ceremonial police parade was held to honour their courage, dedication and selfless service to the nation.
On the occasion, SSP Kishtwar, Sunny Gupta-IPS, read out the names of police personnel who attained martyrdom across the country. He remembered their supreme sacrifices in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
Thereafter, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma-JKAS, and SSP Kishtwar, Sunny Gupta, along with senior officers of the civil administration, police and security forces, retired police personnel, families of police martyrs and prominent citizens, paid floral tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial, DPL Kishtwar.
Later, SSP Kishtwar interacted with the next of kin of the martyrs, listened to their concerns and assured them of every possible assistance from District Police Kishtwar. He reaffirmed that the martyrs’ families remain an integral part of the police fraternity and that the sacrifices of their loved ones will always be remembered with pride and gratitude.
The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts among the martyrs’ families, followed by lunch.
