Kesri convenes anti-drug awareness meeting along RS Pura border

R S PURA, Jun 8: Shiv Sena Hindustan organized a large anti-drug awareness meeting at Chak Shera village along the R.S. Pura border under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir President Pandit Rajesh Kesri. The meeting witnessed the participation of local residents, youth, and party members, with a special focus on addressing the growing menace of drug abuse among border-area youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandit Rajesh Kesri expressed concern over the increasing attraction of some youngsters towards narcotics and emphasized the need for collective efforts to bring them back onto the right path. He said that drug addiction poses a serious threat to society and the future of the younger generation, and therefore awareness at the grassroots level is essential.

An awareness campaign was conducted during the meeting to educate villagers about the dangers of drug abuse, particularly the spread of heroin in border villages. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and immediately inform the local police, village sarpanch, or community leaders whenever they notice suspicious activities or individuals involved in drug trafficking.

Kesri stated that anti-national elements across the border do not want the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to progress and contribute to the nation. He alleged that narcotics, especially heroin, are often smuggled through drones and dropped in border areas with the intention of trapping young people in addiction. He stressed that such conspiracies must be defeated through public awareness and community cooperation.

He further appealed to parents, teachers, social organizations, and village elders to play an active role in guiding the youth towards education, employment, sports, and opportunities to serve the nation, including recruitment into the armed and security forces. “The youth are the future of the country, and it is our collective responsibility to protect them from the scourge of drugs,” he said.

Shiv Sena Hindustan assured the villagers that it would continue to organize awareness drives and support all efforts aimed at safeguarding the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics.

Among those prominently present on the occasion were village Pradhan Suresh Kumar, Ghara Ram, Ajay Bharti, Anchal Singh, Lal Singh, Bittu Ram, Asha Rani, Pooja Devi, Satya Devi, Darshan Devi, Neha Devi, Vijay Kumari, Satpal, and a large number of local residents. The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and ensure a safer and healthier future for the youth of the border region.
