JAMMU, May 31: Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation (JPBEF) celebrated the 101st Birth Anniversary of Com. Tarakeshwar Chakraborty, former General Secretary of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), by organizing a social service programme at the Residential School for Boys for the Visually Impaired, Roop Nagar, Jammu.
The programme was held in a warm and vibrant atmosphere within the school premises, where the Federation donated a mixer grinder, daily-use items, lunch and refreshments for the students. The initiative was undertaken as part of the Federation’s commitment towards social responsibility and community welfare.
The function was presided over by Com. Tara Singh, President of JPBEF. Among those present were Com. Arun Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of the Federation, and Com. Arun Bhanu Khajuria, State General Secretary, PNBOA J&K, who extended their blessings and appreciation for the noble initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Com. Arun Kumar Gupta highlighted the Federation’s continued efforts towards social welfare activities. He stated that JPBEF has regularly organized similar programmes at various institutions serving underprivileged and specially-abled children. He recalled that the Federation had earlier conducted such programmes at Balgran – A Charitable Home for Children, Channi Rama; Muskaan Home for Specially-Abled Children, Channi; Balika Niketan; Ved Mandir, Amphalla; and several other social welfare institutions.
A large number of Federation members and bank employees participated in the programme, including Com. Raghav Abrol, Com. Lati Ram (Indian Bank, Akhnoor), Com. Anil Sotra, Com. Yogesh Kumar, Com. Harminder Singh, Com. Avtar Singh, Com. Sachin Hans, Com. Sonu Kumar, Com. Sahil Samnotra, Com. Lucky Jamwal, Com. Karan Dogra, Com. Kewal Kumar, Com. Anil Verma, Com. Mukesh Sharma and Com. Sanjeev Sucha.
The vote of thanks was presented by Com. Avtar Singh, Organizing Secretary of the Federation. The Secretary of the Residential School expressed gratitude to the leadership of JPBEF for its generous support and for setting an example for other organizations in fulfilling their social obligations. He also expressed hope that such welfare programmes would continue in the future for the benefit of the students.
