JASROTA, May 28: In a major push towards strengthening rural infrastructure and improving connectivity in the Jasrota constituency, MLA Jasrota Rajiv Jasrotia today laid the foundation stones for multiple Public Works Department (PWD) road projects worth approximately Rs 2.66 crore in different parts of the constituency.The projects include the Plah More to Teda road project being undertaken at a cost of Rs 1.23 crore, Plah More to Kumri via Androte road estimated at Rs 60 lakh, Hatli link road costing Rs 50 lakh, and the Hote link road project worth Rs 33 lakh. The developmental works are aimed at improving road infrastructure and easing transportation facilities for thousands of residents living in rural and far-flung areas.
A large number of local residents, public representatives and party workers were present on the occasion and welcomed the initiation of the projects, stating that these roads were long-pending demands of the people.
Speaking after laying the foundation stones, Rajiv Jasrotia said that road connectivity plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of any region and added that the government is committed to ensuring that even the remotest villages receive quality infrastructure and better civic amenities.
He said the projects will significantly benefit villagers, farmers, students, traders and patients who face difficulties due to poor road conditions, especially during adverse weather conditions.
The MLA stated that the improved road network will strengthen connectivity between villages and markets, schools, healthcare institutions and other public facilities, thereby improving the overall quality of life for the people. He added that better roads would also facilitate faster transportation of agricultural produce and help local businesses and economic activities grow in rural areas.
Highlighting the importance of balanced development, Rajiv Jasrotia said that the present government is focusing on accelerating infrastructure projects across Jammu and Kashmir with special emphasis on neglected and border areas. He assured the public that all developmental works in the constituency are being executed with transparency, accountability and a commitment to quality standards.
He further directed the concerned officials and executing agencies to ensure timely completion of the projects without compromising on the quality of work. He said regular monitoring would be carried out to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure that the public receives the intended benefits at the earliest.
During his visit, the MLA also held public grievance meetings and interacted with residents of villages Kadyar, Alair, Teda and Hatli. The locals apprised him of several issues concerning road connectivity, electricity supply, drinking water, irrigation facilities, healthcare services, drainage systems and other developmental needs of their respective areas.
Residents also raised concerns regarding damaged roads, inadequate public utilities and the need for strengthening basic infrastructure in rural belts. Many villagers urged the MLA to take up pending developmental works on priority and ensure speedy implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
Rajiv Jasrotia patiently listened to the grievances and assured the people that their concerns would be taken up with the concerned departments for immediate attention and resolution. He emphasized that public welfare remains his top priority and that continuous interaction with people is necessary to understand ground-level issues and ensure effective governance.
The MLA reiterated his commitment towards the holistic development of the Jasrota constituency and said that sustained efforts are being made to upgrade infrastructure, improve public services and ensure inclusive growth across all areas.
The local residents appreciated the MLA for initiating the projects and for personally visiting the villages to hear their concerns. They expressed hope that the newly sanctioned road works would greatly improve connectivity, reduce travel difficulties and bring long-awaited development to their areas.
