IYA launches 40-day countdown to International Day of Yoga at Himmat Learning Field Higher Secondary School

JAMMU, May 15: The Jammu Chapter of the Indian Yoga Association formally commenced its 40-day countdown programme leading to the International Day of Yoga at Himmat Learning Field Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat, Jammu.

The programme was organised under the esteemed chairmanship of Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, Chairman, IYA Jammu Chapter and State Yoga Commissioner.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities including K. S. Samyal, H. C. Vaid and Ashok Khajuria as Guests of Honour.

Ashok Gupta efficiently conducted the proceedings of the programme and also performed Hasya Yoga during the session, creating an atmosphere of joy and positivity.

Sudha Chander Sharma warmly welcomed the guests, dignitaries and participants. In his address, he emphasised that Yoga Day should not remain confined to a single occasion but should become an integral part of everyday life for holistic health and inner well-being.

A student of HLF School, Raghu, beautifully demonstrated various Yogasanas, while Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain led the practice of Yogasanas, Pranayama and Meditation in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jain highlighted that the Jammu Chapter of the Indian Yoga Association has been consistently organising countdown yoga programmes every year in the run-up to the International Day of Yoga, celebrated globally on June 21 with great enthusiasm and participation.

The entire programme was meticulously organised and managed by the dedicated team of Himmat Learning Field Higher Secondary School under the guidance of Chander Mohan Sharma, Indu Sharma and Pritee Sharma.

Adding a spiritual and cultural essence to the event, K. S. Samyal presented a soulful devotional bhajan, while Dr. Jain recited a special Yoga Geet composed exclusively for the occasion.

Chander Mohan Sharma expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Yoga Association for selecting his institution to host the inaugural programme of the International Day of Yoga celebrations.

Among other prominent participants present on the occasion were Rakesh Misra, Nitin Jain and Ramakant Sharma. Abhinandan Jain addressed the students and shared valuable insights on the importance of inculcating moral, ethical and cultural values among the youth for building a strong and responsible society.

The formal vote of thanks was presented by Indu Sharma. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem.
