KATHUA, Sep 30: The Inter-District Division-Level Karate Tournament for All Age Group Girls concluded at Shivalik Resort, Dayalachak, Kathua, with young karatekas from different districts of Jammu Division displaying their skills, discipline and competitive spirit.
The championship provided budding athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience at the divisional level. Participants competed in different weight categories with enthusiasm and determination.
In the U-17 Girls category from District Udhampur, the selected players included Purnika Sharma (-52 Kg), Sumnanshi Sharma (-56 Kg), Rakshika Sharma (-60 Kg), Aarna (-64 Kg) and Saanvi Bhat (+68 Kg).
The other selection results included Dishani Devi (32 Kg), Kanika Rajput (36 Kg), Suman Devi (40 Kg), Saundarya Rajput (44 Kg) and Urvi Sharma (48 Kg).
The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony attended by IC ZPEO Hiranagar Joginder Khajuria, who felicitated the participating athletes and appreciated their dedication, discipline and sporting spirit.
The successful conduct of the championship reflected the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in providing young athletes with opportunities to compete at higher levels and develop their sporting abilities. The event also encouraged participants to pursue excellence through discipline, regular practice and competitive exposure.
