BASOHLI, May 21: Government Model Higher Secondary School (GMHSS) Basohli organized a special felicitation ceremony on Wednesday to honour the meritorious students of the academic session 2025-26.

The programme was attended by Darshan Singh, who was warmly welcomed by Principal Brij Bhushan Sharma along with retired Headmaster Suresh Kumar Sharma, Headmaster Shree Dutt Sharma, Dharampal Sharma and retired Librarian Ram Dhulari, besides staff members and students.

During the event, the MLA distributed certificates to girl students under the Beti Anmol Scheme and appreciated the outstanding academic achievements of the school toppers.

Among the meritorious students, Pritam Kumar secured 487 marks in the Arts stream in Class 12 and achieved the ninth position. Mahi Kanotra scored 485 marks in Class 12, while Anjali Thakur secured 476 marks with 96 percent in the Science stream. Shlok Sharma also brought laurels to the institution by scoring 467 marks with 93.4 percent in the Arts stream.

Addressing the gathering, Darshan Singh congratulated the students for their remarkable performance and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in academics and other fields. Certificates were also presented to the achievers during the ceremony.

On the occasion, Principal Brij Bhushan Sharma apprised the MLA about various issues and infrastructural problems being faced by the school. The MLA assured the school administration that all genuine issues would be addressed and necessary steps would be taken for their early resolution.
