THANNAMANDI, Jul 31: Government Degree College Thannamandi organised an Awareness Session on Udhyam Jagriti 5.0, a flagship entrepreneurship awareness campaign under Mission YUVA, in the Smart Classroom of the college.
The programme organised by the Mission YUVA Team in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad. The event aimed to inspire students to explore entrepreneurship as a career option while familiarising them with the opportunities available under Mission YUVA for aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs.
The session commenced with Assia Asirut Lone, BHD Lead, Thannamandi, who delivered an informative presentation on the objectives of Mission YUVA and the Udhyam Jagriti 5.0 campaign. She highlighted the Government’s vision of fostering entrepreneurship among the youth and explained the various support mechanisms available for transforming innovative ideas into sustainable business ventures.
Dr. Gohar Iqbal, Nodal Officer, Mission YUVA, Government Degree College Thannamandi, spoke on the relevance of entrepreneurship in the present era. He emphasised that innovation, self-employment, and enterprise development are key drivers of economic growth and encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities provided under Mission YUVA.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Coordinator, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), highlighted how innovative ideas, when supported by proper guidance, incubation, and mentorship, can evolve into successful startups. She motivated students to identify local problems, develop creative solutions, and contribute to the startup ecosystem while generating employment opportunities.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Nagina Kouser, who talked about the importance of the various government schemes aimed at empowering the younger generation through skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She urged students to actively participate in such initiatives to enhance their career prospects and become job creators rather than job seekers.
The programme was also attended by Dr. Mohd Ashrif, Member, Mission YUVA, along with a large number of enthusiastic students. The interactive session witnessed active participation, with students seeking information regarding startup support, funding opportunities, and entrepreneurial guidance.
The programme concluded with a commitment to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and a vibrant startup culture through collaborative initiatives of the Mission YUVA Team, NSS Unit, and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).
