THANNAMANDI, Aug 22: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College Thannamandi celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day under the guidance and support of the College Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad here on Friday.
On the occasion, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, IIC Coordinator, GDC Thannamandi, apprised and motivated the students about various government initiatives and opportunities, including J&K Startup Idea Challenge 2.0, Mission Yuva Udyam Jagriti 5.0, Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS), Smart India Hackathon, e-Yantra Robotics competition and other schemes through which students can develop their innovative ideas, acquire skills and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.
While speaking on the occasion Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, encouraged the students to actively participate in such competitions and make maximum use of the opportunities and schemes available to them. He emphasised upon the importance of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in shaping the future of the youth.
The session encouraged students to think beyond conventional career choices and aspire to become job providers rather than merely job seekers. The students were motivated to recognise the potential of their innovative ideas and transform them into meaningful ventures that can contribute to society and create employment opportunities.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof. Supriya Gupta and Iftiaz Shahbir, Physical Director. The event provided an inspiring platform for students to learn about entrepreneurial opportunities and develop an innovative and employment-oriented mindset.
