RAMNAGAR, Sep 29: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organised an awareness campaign on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in collaboration with the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), Sub-Division Ramnagar, under the guidance of the Principal, Prof. Daljeet Singh Manhas. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Pankaj Sharma.
The campaign was conducted by Er. Sham Lal Sharma, AEE, JPDCL, Sub-Division Ramnagar, who sensitised the students and staff about the key features and benefits of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. He apprised the participants about rooftop solar systems, financial assistance available under the scheme, the application process and the benefits of adopting solar energy.
He further highlighted the significance of the scheme in promoting renewable energy, energy conservation and sustainable development. He encouraged the students to disseminate awareness about the scheme among their families and local communities and motivate eligible households to explore the benefits of rooftop solar power.
The worthy Principal, Prof. Daljeet Singh Manhas, appreciated the initiative of JPDCL and emphasised the importance of creating awareness among students about government initiatives aimed at promoting clean, affordable and sustainable energy.
The campaign witnessed active participation from the students and staff of the college.
