KATHUA, Aug 6: As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua organized an Intra-College National Anthem Singing Competition in the Smart Classroom of the college. The event was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Manohar Lal, with the objective of promoting patriotism, national unity, and respect for the National Anthem among students.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different semesters. A total of three teams and three solo participants took part in the event, displaying remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and devotion.
The participants were evaluated by the panel of judges ( Prof. Neelam Bhagat, Prof. Neeraj Sharma & Dr. Nishtha Sharma) on the basis of pronunciation, synchronization, rhythm, confidence, and overall presentation. Rohini of Semester V secured the First Prize in the Solo Category for her impressive rendition of the National Anthem. In the Group Category, Team C, led by Himani, was awarded the First Prize for its outstanding coordination, harmony, and presentation.
The event was attended by faculty members and students in large numbers, who appreciated the participants for their sincerity and dedication.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, judges, faculty members, organizing committee, volunteers, and all the participants for their wholehearted cooperation in making the event a grand success.
