KATHUA, Jun 30: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua organised a series of fitness and wellness activities across various zones of Kathua district under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, promoting a healthy lifestyle and spreading awareness against substance abuse among youth, students and senior citizens.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups, who actively took part in fitness exercises, yoga sessions, walking events, recreational sports and other wellness activities designed to improve physical fitness, mental well-being and overall health.
The initiative aimed to encourage participants to embrace regular exercise and sports as an effective way to lead a disciplined, healthy and drug-free life. Through interactive activities, the department highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse and motivated the community to adopt positive habits that contribute to personal and social well-being.
Carrying the message “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Fitness,” the campaign emphasised that physical activity and an active lifestyle are powerful tools in preventing addiction and promoting emotional resilience among people, especially the younger generation.
