The meeting was chaired by Chanan Singh Toor, who highlighted the Board’s contribution towards workers’ education and welfare since its establishment on September 16, 1958. He said the Board was renamed in 2016 in honour of Late Dattopant Thengadi, an eminent trade union leader and visionary whose ideals continue to inspire the organisation.
Addressing the meeting, Chanan Singh Toor said, “DTNBWED has trained millions of workers across the country and continues to play a vital role in creating awareness about labour laws, workers’ rights and various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments. Our endeavour is to ensure that these benefits reach workers in every district of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.”
