DSS celebrates 80th Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 15:  Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) J&K celebrated the 80th Independence day in the premises of Sabha Bhawan Dogra Hall, Jammu wherein Col. Karan Singh, President and Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Working President of the Sabha  hoisted the tricolour in the presence of Central Body members and members of youth wing, followed by National Anthem.

Extending his greetings and felicitations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the President paid rich tributes to the Martyrs and freedom fighters and recalled their supreme sacrifices for bringing an end to colonial rule and securing freedom for the country.

He also spoke about the supreme sacrifices made by our valiant soldiers, paramilitary forces and police personnel to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the nation.

He further exhorted the youths of the nation to remain vigilant and prepare themselves for any eventuality to save this hard earned freedom both from external and internal challenges facing the nation. The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among those present on the occasion.

Prominent among those who participated in the programme were Adv. H C Jalmaria, Amanat Ali Shah,  Arvinder Singh Amn,  Ravi Singh Slathia, Akhileshwar Singh Charak, Pawan Sharma, Vidya Sagar Sharma, Rajey Singh and others.
