JAMMU, Jun 9: Dr. S. P. Varma called on Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, at Lok Bhawan and apprised him of the ongoing and upcoming activities of Gandhi Global Family (GGF), J&K.
During the interaction, Dr. Varma highlighted that the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, launched under the visionary leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has evolved into a vibrant people’s movement across the Union Territory. He noted that the campaign has played a significant role in protecting thousands of families from the devastating effects of drug abuse and has generated widespread public awareness against the menace.
To further strengthen the Administration’s efforts towards realizing a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Varma informed that Gandhi Global Family J&K has constituted district-level committees across all districts of the Union Territory. As part of this mission, GGF J&K has also adopted one village in each district with the objective of transforming them into completely drug-free model villages and inspiring wider social change.
Dr. Varma further briefed the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor on various social, educational and community-oriented initiatives being undertaken by Gandhi Global Family J&K. He also shared the roadmap for forthcoming activities and informed that a GGF Shanti Sammelan will soon be organized in Srinagar to promote peace, social harmony, communal amity and active community participation in nation-building.
Appreciating the efforts of Gandhi Global Family, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha commended the dedication and commitment of all the members & volunteers towards community development. He encouraged the organization to further expand its outreach and continue working as a catalyst for positive social transformation, contributing meaningfully to the vision of a prosperous & peaceful Jammu & Kashmir.
