JAMMU, May 21: DLSA Jammu under the guidance of Ravinder Nath Watal, Principal District & Sessions Judge/Chairman DLSA Jammu, and overall supervision of Maleeka Sharma, Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Jammu organized an awareness program on the NALSA Scheme of Child Friendly Legal Services for Children, 2024, at Ved Mandir Balniketan (Orphanage House), Amphalla, Jammu on Thursday.
The program was graced by Maleeka Sharma, Sub-Judge & Secretary, DLSA Jammu, Deepali Arora, Panel Lawyer DLSA Jammu, along with Mansi Sharma and Bhajan Singh, PLVs DLSA Jammu.
Maleeka Sharma initiated the program, emphasizing the significance of the NALSA Scheme. She highlighted that children are special members of society and deserve love, care, safety, education, and respect.
She explained that the scheme aims to make the legal system friendly, safe, and easy for children, ensuring they are heard, respected, and protected. She mentioned, “When a child smiles, only then does society truly move forward.”
She elaborated on the scheme’s benefits, including free legal help, special care for children, trained lawyers and officers, and information about children’s rights in simple language. She encouraged children to speak up if they face problems and assured them of support.
Deepali Arora, Panel Lawyer, DLSA Jammu, further elaborated the scheme’s benefits, explaining how it aims to make the legal system friendly, safe, and easy for children to understand. She highlighted the importance of children’s rights, including the right to education, safety, equality, and expression.
