SAMBA, Aug 3: SPPND Government Degree College, Samba, in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Centre, Samba, organized an Awareness Lecture, Documentary Screening, and Rajyoga Meditation Session under the theme “Mera Bharat, Nasha Mukt Bharat”. The programme aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspire them to lead a healthy, value-based, and addiction-free life.

The awareness lecture was delivered by resource persons from the Brahma Kumaris, who highlighted the physical, mental, social, and spiritual consequences of drug addiction. They emphasized the importance of positive thinking, self-discipline, and Rajyoga meditation in overcoming stress, strengthening willpower, and making responsible life choices. The speakers also introduced the students to the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, where Rajyoga meditation is taught to promote inner peace, emotional stability, and spiritual well-being.

A thought-provoking documentary based on the theme “Mera Bharat, Nasha Mukt Bharat” was screened through the Brahma Kumaris’ awareness vehicle. The documentary effectively conveyed the message of a drug-free India and encouraged students to become active contributors to the national campaign against substance abuse.

The programme also featured a hands-on session of Rajyoga meditation, during which students experienced a guided meditation practice. The practical session enabled participants to experience relaxation and inner peace while demonstrating how regular meditation can help reduce stress, improve concentration, enhance emotional resilience, and promote a balanced lifestyle.

Nearly 300 students, along with members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, attended the programme and participated enthusiastically in the lecture, documentary screening, and meditation session. Students actively interacted with the resource persons and appreciated the practical insights shared during the event.

The programme concluded with all participants taking the “Mera Bharat, Nasha Mukt Bharat” pledge, reaffirming their commitment to remain free from substance abuse, promote healthy living, and contribute towards building a drug-free society.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Nirlape Kaur, Principal, SPPND Government Degree College, Samba, who appreciated the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris team in spreading awareness among the youth and motivating them to adopt a positive, disciplined, and addiction-free way of life.
