UDHAMPUR, Sep 8: The BJP OBC Morcha, District Udhampur, organised a meeting at the BJP Party Office, Battal Ballian, Udhampur, under the guidance of Ashok Koul, General Secretary, BJP Jammu & Kashmir, focusing on organisational strengthening and issues concerning the welfare and socio-economic interests of the OBC community.
During the meeting, the district unit presented a charter of demands concerning the OBC community to Ashok Koul for consideration and necessary action. The participants apprised him of various issues related to the rights, welfare and socio-economic interests of the community and called for their early resolution through appropriate forums.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul appreciated the OBC Morcha for highlighting community concerns and strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level. He said the Morcha has an important role in maintaining effective communication between the party and the people and ensuring that government policies and welfare initiatives reach every section of society.
Koul called upon office bearers and workers to maintain regular public contact, understand local issues and work with dedication for the welfare of the community. He stressed that a strong grassroots organisation depends on continuous engagement with people and timely attention to their concerns.
He also briefed the participants about a series of outreach and organisational programmes scheduled to be conducted for one month from September 17, 2026, in connection with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged OBC Morcha members and workers to participate actively in the programmes, ensure their effective implementation at the grassroots level and encourage maximum public participation.
Braham Jyot Satti, President, BJP OBC Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, said the Morcha remains committed to raising genuine concerns of the OBC community and taking them up before the appropriate forums. He said the organisation would continue to work in coordination with the party leadership to strengthen its presence across Jammu & Kashmir.
Satti also called upon workers to remain united, maintain regular contact with the public and participate actively in the forthcoming organisational and outreach initiatives.
Sagar Verma, District President, BJP OBC Morcha, Udhampur, thanked the senior party leadership for its guidance and support. He assured that the district unit would work with renewed dedication to strengthen the Morcha at the grassroots level and continue pursuing the demands raised by the OBC community through appropriate organisational and official channels.
Verma urged all office bearers and workers to work collectively, remain accessible to the people and ensure the successful implementation of the upcoming programmes across the district.
