JAMMU, Jul 31: Bindu Gupta, wife of Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta, on Friday visited the Tirupati Balaji Temple at Majeen, Jammu, where she participated in the special weekly Abhishek ceremony of Lord Venkateswara and prayed for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the nation.
She was accompanied by Raghav Gupta, Anusha Gupta, social activist Raju Jandyal, and officials associated with the Sai Krishna Temple. The devotees took part in the special Friday Abhishek, a ritual performed every week in honour of Lord Venkateswara.
Speaking on the occasion, Bindu Gupta expressed happiness over the establishment of the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu. She said the temple has provided devotees in the region with an opportunity to experience the rich spiritual and cultural traditions of South India without travelling to Andhra Pradesh.
She described the temple as a source of pride for the people of Jammu and said its presence would further promote spiritual tourism in the region. She appealed to devotees to visit the temple regularly and seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
Raghav Gupta said he was deeply moved by his visit to the temple, located amid the scenic Shivalik hills at Majeen. He encouraged devotees, particularly those who are unable to travel to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, to visit the temple in Jammu and offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara.
The devotees also appreciated the serene atmosphere and well-maintained temple complex, stating that it has become an important centre of faith and devotion for people from Jammu and adjoining areas. The special Abhishek concluded with prayers for national unity, peace and the well-being of all citizens.
