REASI, Jul 1: Indian Army organised the Zonal Gulabgarh Volleyball Tournament at Arital, Reasi. The tournament was conducted with the aim of promoting sportsmanship among local youth, strengthening civil-military relations and encouraging constructive engagement within the Area of Responsibility.
A total of 12 teams from different parts of Reasi District participated in the tournament with great enthusiasm. The players displayed excellent sporting talent, discipline, teamwork and competitive spirit throughout the event.
The tournament also witnessed an encouraging response from local residents, with wide publicity carried out through community outreach, public announcements and social media platforms.
The winning team was awarded the Champions Trophy, gift hampers and a cash prize, while the runners-up were also presented gift hampers and a cash prize. Indian Army made suitable arrangements for lunch and refreshments for all participants during the tournament.
Army personnel interacted with the youth and motivated them to pursue sports, contribute positively to society and explore career opportunities in the Indian Army.
The event successfully channelised the energy of local youth towards constructive activities and further strengthened the bond of trust, goodwill and harmony between Indian Army and the people of the region.
