RAJOURI, Jul 1: The Indian Army organised a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Samote, Rajouri, with the aim of spreading awareness among soldiers and the local populace about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation.
The initiative highlighted the direct link between a clean environment and good health. Participants were sensitised on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, proper waste disposal, improved sanitation, sewage management and personal hygiene.
The campaign also encouraged everyone to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit and contribute towards building a healthy and responsible society.
A total of 23 participants, including 08 soldiers and 15 locals, enthusiastically took part in the event.
The programme witnessed active involvement of all participants, who cleaned the surrounding areas and discussed practical measures to maintain hygiene inside and outside the unit area.
The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge to keep their homes, surroundings and countryside clean. The initiative reflected the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards community welfare, public health and environmental awareness.
