RAJOURI, Aug 21: Continuing its efforts to promote peace, security and communal harmony in the region, the Indian Army organised an Awareness Campaign on “Friendly and Secure Indian Army” for students at Government High School, Sagote, Rajouri. The initiative aimed to motivate youth towards career opportunities in the Defence Forces while highlighting the Indian Army’s people-friendly approach and its contribution towards the safety and welfare of citizens.

During the awareness session, students were apprised about the dual role of the Indian Army as a strong security force safeguarding the nation and as a responsible institution committed to the welfare of local communities. The lecture highlighted the Indian Army’s contributions in disaster relief operations, medical assistance, educational initiatives, women empowerment programmes and peace-building efforts in the region.

The session also emphasised the core values of discipline, courage and selfless service to the nation, while encouraging students to pursue their aspirations with confidence and determination.

The school staff and students expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organising the awareness campaign and inspiring the youth. A total of 70 participants, including 35 boys, 30 girls and 05 teachers were benefited from the programme.

The initiative is expected to further strengthen trust and cooperation between the Army and local communities, encouraging youth to view the Indian Army as not only a strong security force but also a trusted partner in development and progress.
