Army conducts road safety awareness campaign at Mugal Marha

POONCH, Aug 28: The Indian Army organised a Road Safety Awareness Campaign for the local population at Mugal Marha, Poonch. The initiative aimed to educate people about traffic rules, safe driving practices and the importance of responsible road behaviour.

The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from local drivers and youth volunteers. During the event, representatives of the Indian Army highlighted key aspects of road safety, including the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding over-speeding, refraining from using mobile phones while driving and strictly adhering to traffic signals and road signs.

Interactive sessions were also conducted to spread awareness about first-aid measures during road accidents and immediate response techniques that can help save lives. A total of 47 local drivers and youth volunteers participated in the awareness programme. The initiative received an encouraging response from the local population and was appreciated by the civil administration and residents. The Indian Army remains committed to contributing towards nation-building by not only safeguarding the borders but also actively participating in social awareness initiatives for the welfare and safety of society.

The event reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to service to the nation and strengthening its bond with the local community.
