KISHTWAR, Jul 2: National Conference senior leader and spokesperson for the Chenab Valley Zone, Ajeet Bhagat, on Wednesday expressed concern over the recurring incidents of paper leaks and examination irregularities across the country, saying they are jeopardising the future of lakhs of students and unemployed youth.
In a statement, Bhagat said that since 2014, several competitive examinations have been marred by paper leaks and other irregularities, causing uncertainty and distress among aspirants who spend years preparing for government recruitment and entrance examinations.
He said lakhs of students work tirelessly with the hope of securing employment and building a better future, but repeated paper leaks undermine their hard work and deprive deserving candidates of fair opportunities.
Bhagat noted that such incidents often lead to the cancellation or postponement of examinations, creating stress, frustration and disappointment among students. He stressed that a fair, transparent and merit-based examination system is essential to ensure equal opportunities for all aspirants.
The National Conference leader further said that recurring paper leaks raise serious questions about accountability and governance. He called for strict action against those responsible and urged the authorities to introduce effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future and restore public confidence in the examination system.
Criticising the BJP-led Central Government, Bhagat alleged that it has failed to safeguard the interests of students and unemployed youth. He claimed that unless decisive steps are taken to address the issue, the country could face even greater challenges in the years ahead.
The remarks were made by Bhagat as part of his political statement on the issue of examination irregularities.
